南島理念

【南島】不是一個語言學的概念，它指的是一個發聲的地理位置，來自南方島嶼的聲音與視角。自2011年創立開始，南島以大學為知識實踐平台，著重於新馬議題，激發同學的社會關懷與介入，以理性、多元與寬容的角度來理解社會的差異、衝撞與歧異。如今隨著大多數成員已離開校園，目前南島是一個不隸屬於校園的獨立知識論壇，未來仍以連帶新馬的歷史與知識為主，也冀能把關懷視野擴大至新馬周邊地區。

Nandao (literally "Southern Island") is not a linguistic concept that points to the Austronesian. Instead, it refers to a geographical position on where we voice, i.e. sound and perspective from the southern island.

Since it founded in 2011, Nandao as a platform in university which strives for intellectual practice, it focused on Singapore and Malaysia issues, Nandao strives to motivate the university students; social concerns and interventions. At the same time, Nandao aims to promote rational, plural and generous insights in terms of understanding differences, offenses and discrepancies among the society. Now, when most of our members have left the campus, we will still focus on the history and knowledge of Singapore and Malaysia and we hope that we can expand our intellectual horizon to the countries around us. 

｢南島｣は言語学的概念ではなく、発話の地理学的位置のことであって、南方の島嶼の発話からの視角である。これはシンガポール南大学の中国文学の教師たちが設立し、討論し、共有するためのプラットフォームである。メンバーは中国文学、英文学、物理学、数学、科学そして工学関係者である。理性を持って、多元的かつ寛容な精神で社会にある差異、葛藤、異なる意見を学ぶことで、我々の時代の言葉がどこにあるのかを探る。
